Travel Guidelines

From Your Country

You first have to arrange a VISA to be able to travel from your country to India. There may be even some immunization formalities as well. In case you require a prior letter from us for obtaining your VISA for treatment, you can request us for the same. After obtaining your VISA, you may book your ticket with any airlines. You have to come to New Delhi, which is the closest international airport to Dehradun. Next inform us of the travel schedule so that we know the time when to expect you.

How to reach us from New Delhi 

By Road  

It is linked to N. Delhi by road (per seat fare Rs 300/= only for shared, ordinary taxis available at Dehradun taxi stand at Ajmeri Gate). Air conditioned taxis (Fare Rs. 3500/= to Rs. 5000/=for full taxi) are available from most Hotels and Jan path, New Delhi), while buses from ISBT (Inter State Bus Terminal at Kashmere Gate) take 7 hours. The taxi stand or the bus terminal can be reached from the railway stations or airports by pre-paid taxis or auto rickshaws (which is, paradoxically an expensive proposition) or from the airport via city shuttle services (Fare Rs. 20/=) The road route from Delhi leads through towns like Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and Roorkee. An interesting stopover for refreshments recommended midway (between Meerut and Muzaffarnagar) is called Cheetal Grand.

CAUTIONARY NOTE: It has been experienced by several of our oversees patients, that they have been surrounded by private car owners and enticed into using them as taxis. Fortunately they have reached the destination safely, but the charges have been exorbitant. So be careful.

ARRANGING AN ESCORT TO HELP YOU REACH US.

In case you are new to India, and feel you cannot make it to our Hospital on your own, you can ask us beforehand for our Escort Services. You have to inform us the correct date, time and flight number and airlines you are travelling by to us in advance. We shall email you the details like taxi number, mobile number and even a picture of the escort beforehand. The escort shall receive you at the New Delhi Airport, holding up your name placard at the reception lounge. He shall have you  transferred to a Hotel for an overnight stay till the next morning. This is if the flight arrives sometime in the dead of the night. The next morning, the escort shall then accompany you to Dehradun by taxi, so that you are not put to any inconvenience looking up a transport and accommodation on your own in an unfamiliar city. For such a facility, you have to wire transfer us, 15 days in advance a check of Rs. 5000/=(INR) or $100 (US) only, payable to 'ASHIRWAD HOSPITAL' at Dehradun. You could also transfer the money through 'WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER'  and inform us by email or telephonically of such a transfer. This facility is specially recommended for ladies and students, and to most other patients who are travelling first time to India.

By Air  

The air route to Dehradun, via the local Jolly Grant Airport (35 kms. on Dehradun -Rishikesh road) is also available, but enquiries must be made afresh on its running status at any time of the year. Upon receiving information from you, we shall arrange to pick you up from the airport at Dehradun

Delhi-Dehradun Flight Schedule

The 2017/18 Shatabdi Train (Fare Rs. 525/= or $11 only, for AC Chair Car) is recommended because it is non-stop, and reaches Dehradun faster than the other trains. Meals are included in the ticket

The 2055/56 Janshatabdi starts from New Delhi at 15.30 hrs. and reaches Dehradun by 21.10 hrs. This too is a comfortable chair car.

The overnight 4041/42 Delhi-Dehradun Mussoorie Express (Fare Rs. 612/= or $12 only, for AC Sleeper berth) is also a comfortable proposition.

BETWEEN DEHRADUN AND NEW DELHI

How to reach us from within DEHRADUN

Ashirwad Hospital is situated opposite the landmark Forest Research Institute, and is 3.6 Km. from clock tower, the city center. Almost the same distance from the Railway Station and Taxi or Bus stands, an auto rickshaw charges about Rs. 60 to 80/= only to get you to this Hospital within 10 minutes.

You have to transfer us funds in advance for the purposes of sending an escort to pick you up from the New Delhi Airport (100 USD). In case we are ordering implants or any other disposables, then please confirm with us beforehand the amount of advance you have to send.

METHOD 2

You can remit the amount from your local bank to our ICICI Bank Account in India by giving Wire Transfer instructions to your local bank in your country. All you need to do is to walk over to your local bank branch and instruct them to credit our relevant account with the correspondent bank (see correspondent bank list) according to the currency you want to send funds in. You can mention our ICICI Bank account details in the ultimate beneficiary details. (Ashirwad Hospital, Customer ID No. 506353268, Account No. 016405001090, ICICI Bank, Dehradun, INDIA) Please remember to tell your bank to mention "OUR" in their charges column when they send the wire transfer.

Please also carefully note the above numbers without any mistake, or else your money can go into suspense or unknown accounts.

The wire transfer will take 24 to 48 hours to reach our account with ICICI Bank India. ICICI Bank does this service for you absolutely FREE. However, your local bank will charge you for the wire transfer. Please confirm with your local bank the applicable commissions charges.

There are no limits. All countries and all permitted currencies for ICICI Bank apply.
