You first have to arrange a VISA to be able to travel from your country to India. There may be even some immunization formalities as well. It is linked to N. Delhi by road (per seat fare Rs 300/= only for shared, ordinary taxis available at Dehradun taxi stand at Ajmeri Gate). Air conditioned taxis (Fare Rs. 3500/= to Rs. 4500/=for full taxi) are available from most Hotels and Jan path, New Delhi), while buses from ISBT (Inter State Bus Terminal at Kashmere Gate) take 7 hours. The taxi stand or the bus terminal can be reached from the railway stations or airports by pre-paid taxis or auto rickshaws (which is, paradoxically an expensive proposition) or from the airport via city shuttle services (Fare Rs. 20/=) The road route from Delhi leads through towns like Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and Roorkee. An interesting stopover for refreshments recommended midway (between Meerut and Muzaffarnagar) is called Cheetal Grand.

CAUTIONARY NOTE: It has been experienced by several of our oversees patients, that they have been surrounded by private car owners and enticed into using them as taxis. Fortunately they have reached the destination safely, but the charges have been exorbitant. So be careful.

This is if the flight arrives sometime in the dead of the night. The next morning, the escort shall then accompany you to Dehradun by taxi, so that you are not put to any inconvenience looking up a transport and accommodation on your own in an unfamiliar city. For such a facility, you have to wire transfer us, 15 days in advance a check of Rs. 4500/=(INR) or $100 (US) only, payable to 'ASHIRWAD HOSPITAL' at Dehradun. You could also transfer the money through 'WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER' and inform us by email or telephonically of such a transfer. This facility is specially recommended for ladies and students, and to most other patients who are traveling first time to India or any Asian country.

The air route to Dehradun, via the local Jolly Grant Airport (30 kms. on Dehradun -Rishikesh road) is also available, but enquiries must be made afresh on its running status at any time of the year. By Train

The 2017/18 Shatabdi Train (Fare Rs. 525/= or $11 only, for AC Chair Car) is recommended because it is non-stop, and reaches Dehradun faster than the other trains. Meals are included in the ticket

The 2055/56 Janshatabdi starts from New Delhi at 15.30 hrs. and reaches Dehradun by 21.10 hrs. This too is a comfortable chair car.

The overnight 4041/42 Delhi-Dehradun Mussoorie Express (Fare Rs. 612/= or $12 only, for AC Sleeper berth) is also a comfortable proposition.

A Railway Time Table for Dehradun is provided herewith, including relevant times on the trains plying through Delhi.

Ashirwad Hospital is situated opposite the landmark Forest Research Institute, and is 3.6 Km. from clock tower, the city center. Almost the same distance from the Railway Station and Taxi or Bus stands, an auto rickshaw charges about Rs. 60 to 80/= only to get you to this Hospital within 10 minutes.
